Traditional and typical kinds of a human resource are a generalist and a specialist. A generalist has literacy, knowledge and skills for all fields. On the other hands, a specialist has a specified knowledge and skills to one field, which also is called I-typed human resource (I型人材) in Japan.

In Japan, a person that is well versed in all fields is called a T-, π- and H-typed human resource (in Japanese, T型人材,π型人材 and H型人材, respectively). A T-typed human resource is a person who has literacy for all fields and specified knowledge and skills to one field. A π-typed human resource is a person who has literacy for all fields and specified knowledge and skills to some fields. An H-typed human resource is a person who has literacy for all fields and specified knowledge and skills to one field, and can collaborate with other professionals.

On the analogy of this, a Ⅱ-typed human resource (in Japanese, Ⅱ型人材), that is, a person who has literacy for all fields and specified knowledge and skills to some fields, and can collaborate with other professionals, may be proposed.

On the aspect of human resource development or education, these are developed as a kind of the theory of evolution. First, a person is educated on literacy for all fields, as a generalist. Next, he or she is educated on a specific knowledge and skills for one field, as a specialist. Next, he or she is educated on relationships between the literacy and the specific knowledge and skills, as a T-typed human resource. Then, he or she is educated on collaboration with other professionals as an H-typed human resource, or on knowledge and skills for another field as a π-typed human resource. Finally, he or she is educated as a Ⅱ-typed human resource.

Thus, I guess you should begin to learn such specific knowledge and skills for one field, and make a relationships between your literacy and the specific knowledge and skills, now, if you are a graduate student.
